"What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us."  ~Ralph Waldo Emerson
This is a showcase of all the work I have done in my Computer Applications in the Classroom course.

Task 1: Building a Weebly Home/Showcase
Weebly is a free website that allows users to create blogs, add pictures, videos, music and audio, documents, and  photo galleries. Videos, pictures, and and text are added by simply dragging them to the website. Drag on slideshows, files, RSS feeds, or any other HTML embed code -- all by simply dragging and dropping. When you have finished with your site, simply click the publish icon.

 Task 2: Journal Articles/Reflections
This lesson consists of a journal article and reflection on factors that influence elementary teachers use of computers. The factors were access and availability, preparation and training, leadership and time. The article will also list the barriers to computer use and give more details to on this research.

Task 3: Copyright and Fair Use Guidelines for Teachers and Acceptable Use Policy (AUP)
There are many rules and guidelines to the laws of copyright. These rules are very important for any educator, student or person to know. In my blog I have attached a cartoon that will include some of these laws. In the classroom there must also be an acceptable use policy set up to protect the school and the individual.

Task 4: Tech Tools Exploration & Application
Glogster is a social network that allows users to create an interactive poster of self or any other image. Glogster looks like a poster but the user can mix texts, images, videos and audio and send other links to your glogs. Click here to view my glog. Glogster is a great tool to use in the classroom for presentations or projects. Other tech tools that work great in the classroom are http://voki.com, http://prezi.com, http://audioboo.fm, http://inspiration.com and http://storyjumper.com.

Task 5: STAR Center
The Star Center is a resource training center that offers services to all individuals with disabilities or other special needs. They strive to help meet the needs of those individuals to maximize their full potential, meet their personal goals and achieve success.

Task 6: Virtual Connections
VoiceThread is a multimedia slide show that allows you to upload photos, images or videos. This is a great tool for classroom projects. This tool allows you to leave comments in five different ways, use a microphone, text, audio file or by webcam. I have integrated this tech tool in my first lesson plan.

Task 7: Building Technology Integration/LPs
LP1: This lesson plan was developed for a first grade class with a focus on Social Studies. We leaned how to recognize different cultures and studied about the contributions of Meriwether Lewis and William Clark to the development of our civilization in the West.  Click here to view my student sample.

LP2: This lesson plan was also developed for a first grade class with a focus on Language Arts/phonemic awareness. We learned to identify words that have the /u/ sound. In this lesson, we integrated two different web 2.0 tech tools. We used Wordle, a great tool that allows you to create "word clouds" from text you provide. There are many different fonts, layouts, and color schemes which allow you to be as creative as you want. We plugged in our vocabulary words.
We also integrated a tech tool called AudioBoo. This tool allow you to speak into a microphone and it saves your voice creation to a file on the website. This file is under "profiles".
